In New York State, a "private foundation" (IRC § 509) which is required to make its
annual return available for public inspection (IRC § 6104(d)), shall publish a notice that its return is available for inspection.
The NYS publication requirements are set forth in the "Not-for-Profit Corporation Law" and the "Estates Powers and Trusts Law (EPTL). The statutes, in their entirety, can be found at:

- Your public notice will run in the Law Journal within 7 business days of submission. After submitting you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your public notice.
- The affidavit proof of publication will be mailed out the day the notice runs in the Law Journal.
- You may look to see if your ad has run by going to NYLawyer.com/publicNotices and then searching for Foundations.
- The cost of the public notice is $115 for 16 lines plus $11 per line for every additional line. Please note that the preview does not break the lines as it does in the newspaper.
