BigLaw Firm, Others Honor NY Judge, Partner

New York Lawyer
October 1, 2007

By Thomas Adcock
New York Law Journal

Eastern District Senior Judge Jack B. Weinstein will be honored during tonight's annual Abely Awards program at Davis Polk & Wardwell, co-sponsored by Columbia Law School and the Center for Battered Women's Legal Services at Sanctuary for Families.

Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye will present the award, which cites Judge Weinstein for "leading women and children to safety."

Also set to receive an award for pro bono achievement is Cynthia B. Rubin, a partner at Flemming Zulack Williamson Zauderer.

Emma Glazer, a second-year student at Columbia Law, will be granted the Abely fellowship. Namesake of the awards program is the late Maryellen Abely, an alumnus of Columbia Law who, while an associate at Davis Polk, was among the first pro bono attorneys to work with the Center for Battered Women's Legal Services.
